Cambridge Pedestrian Committee

Bike/Ped Planning
Boston/Cambridge

I was the Secretary for the City of Cambridge Pedestrian Committee for three years. This committee was set up by local ordinance in the 1990s to address a dangerous pedestrian environment, and officially advised Cambridge staff and the City Council on matters affecting pedestrians.

During that time, I reviewed development proposals across Cambridge for pedestrian friendliness, including providing significant input to the Grand Junction Trail feasibility study through MIT’s campus.

The Committee also participated in the City’s PARKing Day festivities, conducted experiential walks through Cambridge neighborhoods to expose local businesses to new traffic, and provided significant input on policies and ordinances affected non-motorized transportation in the City of Cambridge.
